Cantine Volpi is a family enterprise, established in the Piemontese town of Tortona in 1914. Carlo Volpi, the current company president is a warm and generous man who believes passionately in developing strong connections with business partners and customers alike. In the 1980’s, after years of experience in producing wine with other peoples grapes, Bruno and Carlo Volpi acquired the best properties available in the Colli Tortonesi, to guarantee the winery high quality local fruit. Cantine Volpi has been organic since 2000.
White – Pinot Grigio
From San Polo de Piave in the heart of the Trevisio countryside, inland from Venice, comes this rather gentle, understated Pinot Grigio. The vineyards are in a natural depression 4 metres below the surrounding farmlands offering plentiful water and richer soils. The wine is a strong yellow straw colour and the bouquet unmistable and immediate with hints of acacia flowers. On the palate it's dry, on the one hand fairly full-bodied yet delicately flavoured, and notably well-balanced.
